There are several names for the Appalachian Trail Festivals held each year in Franklin, North Carolina. You might have heard of Franklin Trail Days, the 11th Annual April Hiker Fool's Trail Days or the Hiker Bash. They're all happening the weekend of March 27-29, 2015.
The events peak on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Come for the music, to meet Appalachian Trail hikers, to check out the vendors, to just get outside for a little while in a beautiful community or come to meet the latest crop of Warrior Hikers.
The American Legion is sponsoring Warrior Hike Celebration at 11:30 am. Lunch will be served. Donations accepted in support of Warrior Hike Program. Come and greet a few of the men and women who have served in our armed forces ... as they walk off the war.
Ronnie Haven's Hiker Bash features vendors, stinky thru-hikers, music, food and a time to tell tall tales of the Trail. That all takes place at the Sapphire Inn, a short hike from downtown.
Meet new people. Learn new stuff about the Trail. Have a good time. And enjoy the sub-culture that is the Appalachian Trail.

Franklin's 2014 April Fool's Trail Days was a bit of a rainy day but that didn't dampen the spirits of folks celebrating the Appalachian Trail in Franklin.

You can hike the entire Appalachian Trail through the wilderness or you can drive from town to town partying at fun Appalachian Trail events. Choose wisely.
