Our friends at the Duncannon Appalachian Trail Committee (DATC) have been working for the past year to make their Appalachian Trail Festival on Saturday, June 21, 2014, one of the best you'll find anywhere on the Trail.

Duncannon is a certified Appalachian Trail Community that treats hikers just like family -- except they probably won't say, "Take a shower! You stink, Bubba!" as they would if you were REALLY family.

There's a chance of rain showers in the forecast, but my guess is the DATC has everything under control. OK, except the weather. But I'll bet they have Plan B all the way through Plan Z covered.

The temperature on my deck right now is pretty hot. A gentle shower to welcome the first day of summer in Duncannon sounds pretty good.
