Our pals at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) have launched their "Zoom in to the Appalachian Trail" photography shoot out.

There's not much more to tell -- except that they're looking for "a close-up photo that showcases the small details of the Trail."

Sorry, but that means your great shots of the expansive scenery from Schmidtlapp Rock won't win.

Zoom in to win!

We can all submit one (nope, not two, just one) picture that, according to the ATC, features "close-up shots ... that ... may include people, places, scenery or more!"

Here's what the shots cannot include:

  • Inappropriate material is strictly prohibited and will not be displayed for voting. This includes and is not limited to nudity, profanity, illegal activity, etc.
  • Any photo confliciting with Leave No Trace(TM) principles will be disqualified.
