Everybody who has been to the Appalachian Trail Museum in Pennsylvania knows Gramma Gatewood wore Keds on her thru-hike.

Everybody knows the biggest party on the Trail is hosted by the kind folks in Damascus, Virginia.

You might even know what thru-hikers do when they hit the halfway point.

If you've been to Diane's Twist in Cheshire, Massachusetts, you know it's the perfect spot on the AT for ice cream ... with shade trees and picnic tables and happy hikers.
