The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) protects and promotes the Appalachian Trail (AT).

They are serious about their mission, but they're nice folks who understand they have great jobs serving a great cause.

ATC has an opening for a Marketing Assistant at their headquarters in Harpers Ferry, WV.

I know what you're thinking. Why didn't they jump at the chance to have me on staff, right? Yeah, that wasn't going to happen. No way the ATC would meet my demands:

  • Title: Supreme Allied Commander
  • Salary: Six digits, before the decimal point
  • Staff: My pal, Julie Judkins, as Sub-Supreme Allied Commander
  • Perks: Allowing me to have concession rights at key places along the AT: Springer Mountain, Clingmans Dome and Mt. Katahdin.

Their loss is your gain.

You probably don't have to be a thru-hiker to get the job, but it would help if you knew more about the Appalachian Trail than most folks.
