The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) selected the movie Appalachian Impressions to be shown at 2013 membership drives.

Those who attend the viewings will hear unique stories from folks who have hiked the 2,180-mile Appalachian Trail (AT), and words of wit and wisdom from those who volunteer to protect and maintain it.

Prizes -- water bottles, hats, and an ATC ENO Hammock -- will be given away at every showing.

The film Appalachian Impression takes you on a six-month journey along the most famous long-distance hiking trail in the world. Along the way, you'll hear the hikers stories and experience the thrills and challenges of daily life on the Trail. The program covers all fourteen states and highlights:

  • the change of the seasons
  • footwear
  • food
  • shelters
  • volunteer trail crews and
  • Leave No Trace Ethics.

This fascinating movie captures the essence of the sub-culture of the AT, its interesting characters, beautiful scenery and the generous spirit found in small town America.
