The fun begins on Friday night around 6 PM at the famous 9th Annual Biker Bash -- founded by the legendary Ronnie Haven -- at the Sapphire Inn in Franklin.

Sure, Franklin is 11 miles from the Appalachian Trail, but it's a popular spot for thru-hikers looking for a bit of friendly civilization, restocking and, during April Fool's Trail Days, it's the coolest place on earth for a day or two.

Meet REAL hikers, people who look like hikers, and folks who will give you all the advice and sell you all the gear you would need to hike the Appalachian Trail to Mars and back.

But if you wait until April Fool's Day, you'll be late.

Downtown Franklin comes alive on Saturday March 30th, when the April Fool's Trail Days Festival hits the heights of fundom.

There will be lots of seminars, music, dandy food, informative booths and hiking goodie vendors.

Not enough? Ha! How about face painting and games for the kids?

There's all that and more at Franklin's April Fool's Trail Days Festival.

That isn't on April Fool's Day.

See you there!
